Poipu Kauai is one of the hottest vacation destinations! Poipu is located on Kauai’s south shore. Poipu means “crashing waves” in Hawaiian but Poipu has more to offer than just beautiful beaches. If you are heading to Poipu Kauai be sure to check out our list of 5 Things to do in Poipu Kauai!
1. Poipu Beach
Poipu Beach has been named America’s Best Beach by the Travel Channel. It is one of the most popular and safest Kauai Beaches. If you have ever wanted to learn to surf, Poipu Beach is the perfect place for Kauai surf lessons. It is also a great place to experience marine life. Kauai Snorkeling at Poipu Beach may reveal an up close encounter with the state fish, the humuhumunukunukuapuaa. If you go to Poipu Beach during Kauai Whale Watching season you may see a majestic humpback whale. Poipu Beach is also home to many Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles. My favorite sighting on Poipu Beach is Hawaiian Monk Seals. Although only about 1,200 Hawaiian monk seals remain, many of them swim in the south shore of Kauai.
2. Spouting Horn
Spouting Horn blowhole is one of the most photographed spots on Kauai. Waves enter under a lava shelf and burst through a small opening in the surface. The water sprays as high as 50 feet in the air. The sight and sound of this natural wonder is amazing.
3. Aulii Luau
Aulii Luau is located on the beach at the Sheraton Kauai Resort Poipu. Aulii Luau connects guests with Kauai’s rich history and culture. After a delicious luau meal sit back and enjoy exciting songs and dances of Polynesia performed by Kauai’s talented and award-winning dancers of Urahutia Productions. 4. Koloa Zinline
Koloa Zipline features Kauai’s longest Zipline course at a total of 1.5 miles! Experience the beauty and majesty of Kauai as you zip through the jungle and across water. Koloa Zipline offers unique options such as the Flyin Kau’ian Harness that lets you fly like a Superhero head first on 7 of the 8 lines of the Koloa Zipline tour! Another option provided by Koloa Zipline is the Koloa Zipline Sunset Tour. The Sunset Zipline Tour lets you see the night sky of Kauai in a way like no other!
