Chiefs Luau at Sea Life Park starring Chief Sielu is a new Hawaiian Luau on Oahu. Chief Sielu is a celebrity in Hawaii so I couldn’t wait to check out this luau. I was not disappointed – in fact I was blown away and now I know why Chiefs Luau at Sea Life Park is rated Hawaii’s Best Luau!
A great thing about Chiefs Luau at Sea Life Park is you can choose your Hawaiian luau package. They offer several different levels at various prices. Click here to check out the various luau packages. We chose the Royal Package and were greeted with a beautiful flower lei.
Once we received our lei greeting we met Chief Sielu and began participating in a variety of Hawaii Activities going on throughout the beautiful luau grounds. There was a fire making station, weaving, tattoos, hula lessons and a market. I hit the bar for a glass of wine and watched everyone having a blast participating in the Hawaii Activities. I also took some time to take in the views. The luau grounds for Chief’s Luau at Sea Life Park are stunning with breathtaking views of Rabbit Island and Koolau Mountain Range. Hang gliders were dotting the sky. I made my way over to the fire making station to see what was going on. Guests were rubbing 2 sticks of Hibiscus wood together in an attempt to start a fire. After just a few seconds Mitch from Guides of Oahu successfully had smoke coming from his sticks. (Jeff Probst if you are reading this I nominate Mitch for the next season of Survivor!)
I heard the sound of the conch and walked over to the imu (underground oven) for the imu ceremony. I have been to a variety of Hawaiian Luaus and most imu ceremonies are similar but this one was unique. I was laughing and hanging on to Chief Sielu’s every word throughout the imu ceremony.
From the Imu Ceremony to the Hawaii Fire Dancing be sure to check out this video of Chief Sielu in action!
We enjoyed pre dinner entertainment and then it was time for the Chiefs Luau feast! Since we had the Royal Package we had table service and did not have to go to the buffet. I have eaten my fair share of luau meals and the food at Chief’s Luau was one of the best! Kalua Pork, Grilled Island Fish with Papaya Marmalade and Chicken Yakitori with Teriyaki Sauce were just a few of the delicious items on the menu.
After dinner there was an ‘Ava Ceremony. Everyone was a great sport including John who was chosen to participate in the ceremony.
As the sun was setting the show began and it was electric! Stunning costumes, hula dancing and beautiful music.
If you wanted to be a part of the show everyone had a chance – they offered many opportunities for audience participation.
Chief Sielu has amazing stage presence and as the star of Chiefs Luau he makes the show entertaining and hilarious.
The show closed with some of the best fire dancing I have seen. Travel Tip – be sure to pay attention if you are sitting in the back! I will just say Chief Sielu and the fire dancers have great accuracy.
If it sounds like I am gushing about Chief’s Luau – well I am. I know why it is rated Hawaii’s Best Luau. If you are looking for a fun night out with delicious food, beautiful views, amazing dancing, hilarious entertainment and magical memories then Chiefs Luau is the Hawaiian luau for you! From spending time with new friends, remembering the awesome glow of the full moon as Chief Sielu entertained the crowd, to talking with Chief Sielu at the end of the show, I have many fond memories of Chief’s Luau at Sea Life Park that will last a lifetime.
