Maui Helicopter Tours
I couldn’t wait to experience Maui Helicopter Tours! We arrived at the Maui location of Sunshine Helicopters excited for the West Maui Molokai Deluxe Helicopter Tour. We watched a brief safety video and then headed out to the helicopter, the luxurious WhisperStar. We were given our assigned seats and then we were off!
As we lifted off (with the Star Wars theme playing in the background) I was immediately in awe of the beauty of Maui from this birds eye view.
We flew through the West Maui Mountains and entered Iao Valley, also known as Valley of the Kings. We saw many stunning waterfalls including “Wall of Tears” with over seventeen waterfalls flowing at once and Honokohau Falls, Maui’s tallest waterfall, with over 1,100 ft drop.
We headed back to the coastline to cross the Pailolo channel between Maui’s northwestern shore and Molokai’s eastern coastline.
I enjoyed capturing the scenic views but my photos do not do it justice. Maui Helicopter Tours are something you have to experience for yourself!
I was also busy taking video of this amazing Hawaii Helicopter Tour! Be sure to check out my video “Maui Helicopter Tours” to see gorgeous waterfalls set to the sounds of my favorite musician IZ!
We passed Elephant Rock and began our journey through Molokai. We flew through Halawa Valley and saw even more gorgeous waterfalls including 1,750 ft Kahiwa Falls.
We soared over and past the tallest sea cliffs in the world! The Molokai sea cliffs drop over 3,600 feet!
We even saw Kalaupapa Peninsula, which had been home to people suffering from Hansen’s disease (leprosy). At one point over 1,000 people were in exile in this island prison. The isolation law was enacted by King Kamehameha V and remained in effect until 1969.
One of my favorite views of these Maui Helicopter Tours was this beautiful coral reef and being able to see the variety of colors from above.
We crossed the channel again and headed back to Maui. We saw world famous Kaanapali Beach.
We enjoyed the beauty of Maui’s coastline including views of Lahaina and Molokini before heading back through the mountains to view the “Grand Canyon of Maui.”
We even caught a view of the popular cruise ship Pride of America.
Maui Helicopter Tours are a great way to experience the beauty of Maui and see parts of the island that can only be viewed via helicopter! Hawaii Helicopter Tours are a splurge I would recommend on a Hawaii Vacation. Hawaii Discount offers a variety of Hawaii Helicopter Tours.
