One of my favorite days on Maui began when my brother and I got up early to meet a friend for breakfast. Next we went to the beach where I had private surf lesson while John went out to explore Maui on a stand up paddle board. Then we spent a few hours in Wailea before making our way back to Lahaina for some shopping. As we were shopping in Lahaina our friend Chief Palota from the Polynesian Village Luau invited us for a drink at the new restaurant Fleetwood’s on Front Street. We were still in our swimsuits but we are not ones to pass up a fun opportunity. I hit the sale rack at my favorite Maui Shop, Honolua Surf Shop, and we went to one of the newest Maui Restaurants, Fleetwood’s on Front Street. Not only did we enjoy great cocktails and a beautiful sunset but we had the pleasure of meeting Mick Fleetwood!
Mick Fleetwood, the drummer for Fleetwood Mac, opened Fleetwood’s on Front Street on August 2, 2012. Fleetwood’s on Front Street serves lunch and dinner with a variety of entrees such as Grilled Pacific Opah Moonfish and Kona Coffee Rubbed Bone-In New York Steak. Fleetwood’s offers a unique experience you will not find at other Maui Restaurants.
The bar at Fleetwood’s on Front Street
Despite the beautiful decor of the bar we headed to the Rooftop. Now THIS is one of the best Maui Restaurants to watch a Maui Sunset. The views and ambiance were great. I ordered a 1944 Mai Tyler which was their version of the Mai Tai topped with lilikoi foam. I took a look at the Rooftop Menu and was pleased to see they offered a cheese plate with cheese from Surfing Goat Dairy.
Cheers to Hawaii!
Again I think the Rooftop Bar at Fleetwood’s in Lahaina is one of the best Maui Restaurants to watch a sunset. With ocean and mountain views, live music and great cocktails – it doesn’t get much better than this.
I sat back, relaxed and took in the sights of the Maui Sunset.
We did not eat at Fleetwood’s on Front Street so I cannot tell you first hand how the food is. The dinner menu looked great but we were content enjoying the ambiance at the Rooftop Bar. If you are in Lahaina around sunset I highly recommend stopping in to Fleetwood’s of Front Street for a drink and the views! You won’t regret it – and you may even run into Mick Fleetwood!
Have you eaten at Fleetwood’s on Front Street? What did you think of the food?
