Pictures of Hawaii
With all of the hype of December 12, 2012 12-12-12 I decided to share my 12 favorite Pictures of Hawaii. I have literally taken thousands of Pictures of Hawaii so it was no easy task to narrow it down to 12. These are just a few of my favorites – some were chosen for their beautiful Hawaii locations and some just bring back great memories.
1. Hanauma Bay
One of the most amazing places on Oahu is Hanauma Bay – the problem was deciding which Hanauma Bay photo to include in the “Top 12 Pictures of Hawaii.” This gorgeous location not only offers some of the best snorkeling in the world but also stunning views and a beautiful beach.
2. Aerial View of Diamond Head
A climb to the top of Diamond Head provides great views of Oahu but an aerial view of Diamond Head gives another great perspective of this volcanic crater. All Oahu Vacations should include a hike to the top of Diamond Head. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water! If you want to experience aerial views of Oahu check out Oahu Helicopter Tours or Inter Island Flights!
3. Germaine’s Luau Fire Dancer
Oahu boasts some of the best Hawaii luaus! I was lucky enough to capture this photo at Germaine’s Luau. Germaine’s Luau offers a dazzling show and makes everyone feel like family. Chief’s Luau at Sea Life Park is another great Oahu Luau. Chief Sielu is one of the best entertainers on Oahu and the evening at Chief’s Luau is full of fun and laughs.
4. Sunrise at Haleakala
Haleakala, a dormant volcano, is one of the best places to watch the sunrise. Hawaii Discount offers both a Haleakala Sunrise Tour and a bike down Haleakala Tour. This is one Maui location that should not be missed!
5. Maui Westin – Kaanapali Beach
The rooms at the Maui Westin boast beautiful views. This hotel is located on world famous Kaanapali Beach. The Maui Westin is also the location of the Wailele Luau. This Maui Luau offers a delicious meal and a memorable show with a finale that lights up the night!
6. Maui Waterfalls
I took this photo on a Maui Helicopter Tour. We traveled with Sunshine Helicopters on their Molokai Deluxe Tour. Locations seen during this Maui Helicopter Tour included the “Wall of Tears” (with over seventeen waterfalls flowing at once), Honokohau Falls, Kahiwa Falls and views of the resorts Kapalua and Kaanapali. The highlight of this Maui Helicopter Tour was soaring over Molokai’s scenic, remote north shore.
7. Princeville Ranch Adventures Zipline Tour
This photo says it all! A Kauai Zipline Tour in one of the most beautiful places on the planet! This was taken on the Princeville Ranch Adventures Zip N Dip Tour. We had a blast on the 9 scenic ziplines and suspension bridge. If you want an adrenaline rush in paradise be sure to try Hawaii Ziplines!
8. The Na Pali Coast
Kauai’s Na Pali Coast is one of the most breathtaking places in the world. It is not easily accessible so it is a treat to take in this spectacular sight. The best ways to experience the Na Pali Coast are via Kauai Helicopter Tours or Kauai Cruises.
9. The St. Regis Princeville
If you have ever been to the St. Regis Princeville you know photos can not do justice to the views from this hotel. I often use the word breathtaking in my blog posts but breathtaking is the only word I can think of to describe the views from the St. Regis Princeville. If you are in the Princeville or Hanalei areas I highly suggest stopping by to check this film location from The Descendants.
Big Island Pictures
10. Kona Lei Greetings
I love receiving Hawaiian Lei Greetings when I step off of the airplane. This one made the “Top 12 Pictures of Hawaii” because I love these beautiful Kona Lei Greetings. This photo brings back memories of the great adventures I had with the “Traveling Trio” on the Big Island.
11. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
Kilauea Volcano has been erupting since January 1983. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is a popular destination for those that want to experience Kilauea Volcano. As I type this lava is currently flowing into the ocean providing one of Mother Nature’s greatest shows! Of course volcanic activity is unpredictable but even if are unable to view flowing lava you can still experience the wonders of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park with Big Island Volcano Tours.
12. Manta Ray Night Snorkel
I realize that this photo will never win a photo contest but the Manta Ray Night Snorkel is one of my favorite Big Island Activities so I had to include it in the “Top 12 Pictures of Hawaii.” The average Manta Ray wing span is 5-8 feet but can reach over 14 feet. Watching these gentle giants swim around as they perform their majestic manta ballet is a memory for a lifetime.
So that is it – my top 12 Pictures of Hawaii! What Pictures of Hawaii would you have included in my top 12?
I hope everyone has a happy 12-12-12!
